Whenever My Name is Jonas comes on my iTunes on shuffle I freeze for the first 10 seconds afraid that it might be the version [http://tinysong.com/8jqN] from the Weezer Tribute album because the beginning of that version scares the shit out of me every single time.
this is the worst! it sounds like the beatles and weezer got in a fight and kicked the shit out of eachother, and the beat up and bloodied remnants started the worst band of all time together. get your ears checked. i’d rather be dead then ever hear this song again. woooooooo.
I actually have to agree that this was kind of secretly always my favorite saves the day album. something about them playing terrible power pop sounds so good to me. or at least me when i was 15.
I actually spun the A-side of this last night while cleaning house; so dark and still so catchy at points. I can’t by any means say it’s my favorite Saves The Day album, but there are times when it so aptly coincides with life that nothing else will do.
I’m with you Tim. I hated this album when it came out. Granted I was 18 and still wanted pop punk as much as humanly possible. I don’t know when it happened but one day I totally started loving it.
(Though I think in the back of my head I always knew because only a few months after In Reverie came out I went and got my first tattoo which is a Saves the Day lyric in graphic form.)
“What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”—Martin Luther King, Jr. - Wikiquote
